Are you already thinking about which character you are going to cosplay in 2026? Well done! Because next year arrives loaded in Brazil with events for all styles of cosplayers: from the most experienced to those who are just starting in this world full of fabrics, wigs, accessories and, of course, lots and lots of glitter.
So if you want to organize your agenda (and your suitcase), here you have a complete guide of the cosplay conventions confirmed in Brazil for 2026. This article is based on real and verified information, and I include the official links so you can follow each of these events closely.
Anime Friends 2026 - São Paulo
Date confirmed: from July 2 to July 5, 2026
Location: Pavilhão de Exposições do Anhembi, São Paulo
Official URL: https://animefriends.com.br
What is Anime Friends?
It is the largest Asian culture convention in Latin America. If you have ever dreamed of being surrounded by thousands of fans of anime, manga, cosplay, K-pop, J-rock, idols and otaku culture in general... this event is your paradise. With more than 150,000 attendees in its 2025 edition, it is already shaping up to be the big cosplay scene in Brazil by 2026.
Cosplay in Anime Friends
- Professional catwalks with important prizes
- Thematic contests (anime, video games, series)
- Professional photo zones
- Accessories, sewing and dressmaking workshops
- Presence of international guest cosplayers
- And lots of otaku atmosphere!
If you have a high impact cosplay or want to experience your first big event, this is the place. Of course, be prepared for the Paulista heat of July... and bring water!
SANA 2026 - Fortaleza
Date confirmed: January 30 and 31, and February 1, 2026
Location: Centro de Eventos do Ceará, Fortaleza
Official URL: https://portalsana.com.br
What is SANA?
SANA is the largest pop culture and cosplay convention in the Brazilian northeast. It has editions at different times of the year, but the summer edition 2026 has already been officially announced.
SANA has a different style: much warmer (full summer in the north of Brazil!) and with an incredibly welcoming community. Ideal for colorful, light, casual or heat-adapted cosplays.
Cosplay at SANA
- Competitions by category (children's, group, free)
- Parades on the main stage
- K-pop and C-pop meetings
- Anime and geek culture themed areas
- Themed food park (with geek stalls!)
One of the most special things about SANA is that it mixes a lot with the regional culture, so you will see very original costumes with Brazilian touches. Plus, you can take the opportunity to go to the beach after the event. What more could you ask for?
Possible additional events for 2026 (dates to be confirmed)
Although not yet officially announced, there are very well-known cosplay conventions in Brazil that, by trajectory, are almost certain to return in 2026. Some of them are:
- Super-Con (Recife and other northeastern cities)
Itinerant geek and cosplay event that usually takes place in July or August. Multi-event with contests, music and space for illustrators.
Web: still no official site active in 2026; usually announced through social networks. - AnimeXtreme (Porto Alegre)
The largest pop culture event in southern Brazil. Traditionally held in April and October. Dates 2026 still to be announced. - BGS - Brasil Game Show (São Paulo)
It is not exclusively about cosplay, but it has a huge gamer cosplayer community. It is expected to be released in October 2026.

How to prepare for these events
Book in advance
Hotels, tickets and tickets often sell out or go up in price. As soon as sales open, buy your pass, especially for Anime Friends or SANA.
Choose your cosplays strategically
Keep in mind the climate of each city. Fortaleza is very hot, while São Paulo may be more temperate. Opt for light fabrics or modular suits so you can make it through the day without roasting.
Join local cosplay groups
On WhatsApp, Telegram or Discord there are communities that organize to go together, share accommodation, do photo shoots or even help you with the costume.
Prepare a cosplay survival kit
- Double-sided tape
- Portable hot melt glue gun
- Not to be missed
- Wet wipes
- Water and snacks
- Mini sewing kit
Use social networks to your advantage
Follow the official accounts of the events. Sometimes they organize previous contests, ticket raffles, discounts, etc. You can also submit your cosplay in previous calls or meet your favorite cosplayers.
In a nutshell
Brazil has already confirmed two major cosplay conventions for 2026:
- Anime Friends 2026 in São Paulo (July 2 to 5)
- SANA 2026 in Fortaleza (January 30 and 31, February 1)
And it is very likely that in the coming months Super-Con, BGS, AnimeXtreme and other local gems will be added. If you are a cosplayer, artist, illustrator or just a fan of the otaku world... 2026 is going to be YOUR year!
Write down the dates, start designing your costume and join the community that lives cosplay with passion. Brazil has it all: massive events, warm weather, enthusiastic crowds, delicious food and a geeky atmosphere unlike anything else.
