Adults 18+ only

Hentai artists publishing on their own terms

OtakuOshi is where independent hentai artists share adult illustration, erotic dōjinshi, NSFW animation, R-18 cosplay and audio roleplay in an anime and manga style, and where many of them take bespoke commissions as well. The space is strictly for over-18s, and every upload is checked, tagged and published under the platform’s rules.

Where the word hentai comes from

Taken literally, hentai (変態) means a “change of state”, while in ordinary Japanese speech it leans towards “abnormal” or “perverted”. English-speaking fans picked it up in the 1990s as a catch-all for sexually explicit anime and manga. Japan itself doesn’t treat it as a genre name at all, labelling such titles 18禁 (18-kin, closed to under-18s) or simply adult manga, roughly what this site calls R-18. Ecchi stops a step earlier, teasing with fanservice and never showing everything.

Much of the art grows out of the dōjin scene, in which individual authors and small circles self-publish and sell straight to readers, skipping publishers entirely, at events like Comiket or through online shops. A big share of what changes hands there is for adults, and it isn’t only comics, with CG collections, standalone drawings, games and visual novels in the mix. Digital tools and direct subscriptions now let one artist reach readers on several continents and fund their output through the support of the people who follow them.

On OtakuOshi each hentai artist publishes directly to fans. Before any R-18 upload the creator verifies their identity in line with the US 2257 record-keeping law, fans confirm they are adults before they can enter, and every work is rated and tagged according to our publishing principles. The money goes straight to the creator.

The disciplines hentai artists work in

Every artist has a medium they’re known for. These are the ones you’ll come across most often in adult otaku art.

🎨

Adult illustration in hentai style

Some artists post polished finals, others share loose sketches too, and many bundle work into themed CG collections, big galleries, posters, wallpapers or sticker sets. You’ll see everything from retro anime looks to pixel art, painterly rendering and near-realism, covering their own designs as well as fan art of grown-up characters. If you also draw for a general audience, have a look at our manga artists page.

📖

Erotic dōjinshi and hentai manga

Single-chapter stories or long-running series with real plot, whether wholly original or derivative works in the Japanese dōjinshi tradition. Readers get them as digital files (JPG, PDF, CBR) or page by page in the reader. Comic makers will find a dedicated guide to self-publishing doujinshi.

📸

R-18 cosplay

Often searched for as hentai cosplay, this is grown-up cosplayers taking characters into adult territory, in photos or on video, in a studio or out on location. Nobody can feature unless their ID has been verified and they’ve clearly agreed to the material going live. When a photographer and a cosplayer team up, both are credited.

🎬

NSFW animation

Adult 2D and 3D animation including loops, short films, smooth-motion scenes, parodies and indie projects, delivered as HD or 4K MP4. Movement can carry things a still frame can’t, such as the pacing of a scene or a shift in expression. For all-ages work, head to anime animation.

🎙️

Adult audio roleplay and ASMR

Performers voice anime characters in fictional adult scenes, from ASMR to roleplay and narrated stories. Recordings come in Japanese, Spanish or English, often binaural and written from scratch, and custom orders are possible, with downloads in FLAC, WAV or MP3. Prefer it all-ages? Try anime ASMR roleplay instead.

✨

Bespoke commissions

Made-to-order work in any medium, be it an illustration with specific characters and settings, a dōjinshi with its own storyline, a themed cosplay shoot, a custom-scripted audio or an animation on request. Fan and creator talk it through in private messages and agree the fee and timescale themselves.

For fans: how to support the creators you like

R-18 material on OtakuOshi only opens up once you’ve proved you’re over 18. The step is mandatory and protects artists and audience alike. Once it’s done, you can browse profiles, subscribe and buy adult content on the platform freely. UK readers will find this familiar: since 25 July 2025, the Online Safety Act has required UK sites that allow pornography to use highly effective age checks.

Each listing tells you what’s included before you spend anything. You’ll see a preview that doesn’t give the whole work away, plus the content type, the characters and series referenced, file count, format, resolution, tags, rating and licence. Want only dōjinshi, or only hentai cosplay? Filtering on genre, theme, style and warnings narrows things down and hides anything you’d rather not see.

Pay a monthly subscription to a creator, unlock individual works, or do both, and leave a tip whenever you’d like to give a little extra. Charges show on your bank or card statement under a discreet descriptor that names neither the platform nor the type of content. The full walkthrough is on how OtakuOshi works.

For creators: earning from your hentai art

Do you draw, write, shoot, animate or voice adult work with an anime and manga look? Our creator space gives you verification, ratings and money-making tools built around R-18 output.

Before you can post R-18, verify your identity under the US 2257 law. If anyone else appears in your work (cosplay, photography, video), each of them needs to be verified too. Think of it as legal cover for you and reassurance for your audience.

Uploads can include illustration (JPG, PNG, PSD), dōjinshi (PDF, CBR or posted straight to the reader), photography (JPG, TIFF, RAW), video and animation (MP4), audio (MP3, WAV, FLAC), 3D files, themed ZIP bundles and anything related. You decide what stays public (SFW previews are great for drawing people in), what each tier unlocks and what’s sold as a pay-per-view unlock.

You can earn through memberships at different price points, one-off unlocks, tips, paid DMs, custom commissions, live broadcasts and our affiliate programme. Accurate tagging of every work (genre, theme, warnings, rating) is compulsory, and it has the handy side effect of putting you in front of fans looking for exactly your sort of thing. From verification to publication, step by step

Adult work goes through a stricter route than the rest of the site, designed to protect everybody involved.

01

Sign up and prove who you are

Register at fans.otakuoshi.com and complete identity verification under the 2257 law, which confirms your identity and that you are an adult. Nothing rated R-18 can be published until it’s done.

02

Build your profile and tiers

Write a bio, price each membership level and list its perks, then add a few open-to-all teasers or SFW samples so newcomers can get a feel for your style. Your public profile is visible to anyone, but R-18 posts appear only to fans who have verified their age.

03

Upload and classify

When adding a work you select the R-18 rating, add the required genre, theme and warning tags, name the characters and series it draws on, list format and resolution, and choose whether it’s unlocked by subscription or sold individually.

04

Verify everyone who appears

Where real people feature (cosplay, photography, video), each must have their identity and age verified on the platform and must have explicitly agreed to the content being published and sold.

05

Go live

The work becomes available to verified fans straight away. Members see whatever their level includes without doing anything, while one-off unlocks show every verified fan a preview plus your tags and details.

06

Moderation checks

Moderators confirm that rating, tags and warnings are accurate, that the work meets the ethics policy and that it falls into no prohibited category. Anything that breaks the rules is taken down and the creator is told why.

Genres and tags you’ll see

Tags do two jobs. They help fans track down what they’re after, and they let them filter out what they’d rather avoid. These are the main ones.

Romance. Love stories with an adult element, including slow burn, enemies to lovers and vanilla. Fantasy. Spells, monsters, isekai worlds and the uncanny. Sci-fi. Tech-driven futures, cyberpunk and mecha. Erotic comedy. Light-hearted set-ups with a dash of the absurd. Drama. Emotionally heavy stories with well-developed characters.

Ecchi. Suggestive and teasing, on the border between R-15 and R-18. Softcore. Erotic in tone and may include nudity, but stops short of detailed sex scenes. Explicit. Full sexual content, always within platform rules. Yaoi / BL (Boys’ Love). Relationships between men. Yuri / GL (Girls’ Love). Relationships between women. BDSM. Power dynamics between characters, where consent is made clear.

It’s the artist’s job to add each relevant tag. Content warnings are compulsory whenever something could upset sensitive viewers, and mislabelling a work or omitting a required tag breaches the terms of service.

File formats and technical specs

What adult work on OtakuOshi usually comes as, broken down by medium.

🖼️

Still images (JPG, PNG, PSD)

Expect 3000 to 6000 px on the long edge in the sRGB colour space. Transparent artwork comes as PNG, premium tiers may get the PSD with layers intact, and themed galleries or CG collections arrive as a ZIP. Public listings carry only a scaled-down preview.

📖

Comics (PDF, CBR, JPG)

Choose a laid-out PDF, a CBR to open in your favourite comic app, or read online one page at a time. Files are sharp enough for screens and for printing at home for yourself.

🎬

Video and animation (MP4)

Clips, loops, timelapses, BTS footage and 2D or 3D animation are encoded in H.264 or H.265 and delivered as MP4 in Full HD or 4K. How long each one runs varies with the project.

🎧

Sound (MP3, WAV, FLAC)

For voice work of every kind, lossless WAV or FLAC suits listeners who care about quality and MP3 keeps file sizes small. Binaural mics come out when a scene benefits from them.

🏷️

Required metadata

On any R-18 listing you’ll find what kind of work it is, who’s in it and from which series, its genre, sub-genre and themes, the warnings, how many files there are, their format and resolution, the R-18 label and the licence.

📜

Licence

The default licence is personal use, so you can view the work, set it as a wallpaper or print it privately. Anything commercial, such as showing it on stream, printing it for sale or putting it on merch, requires an extended licence. Sharing files onwards, selling them on or feeding them to an AI model is not permitted.

What is strictly banned

OtakuOshi enforces hard limits on all R-18 content, with no exceptions for format, style or medium.

Sexualising minors. We remove any sexual material that shows, hints at or implies anyone under 18 or any character with a childlike appearance, and a made-up age on a character sheet changes nothing. Photo, drawing, manga, animation or audio, the medium makes no difference.

Content made without consent. A real person can only appear in photos, footage or recordings if they’ve said yes, clearly, to it being published and sold. Deepfakes, AI face-swaps and synthetic copies of somebody’s face, voice or identity fall under the same ban.

Untagged sexual violence. If a story involves coercion, sexual violence or power play without consent, the proper warnings have to be attached, and leaving them off counts as a serious offence.

Undisclosed AI art. Don’t present machine-generated work as handmade. Used AI anywhere along the way? Declare it openly.

Read the exact text in our acceptable use policy, which works together with the ethics policy and publishing principles. Break it and the work comes down; serious or repeated breaches can see the account closed for good.

Hentai artists: questions from fans and creators

What people ask us most about adult work on OtakuOshi.

It is. You must confirm you’re 18 or over before viewing, buying or subscribing to anything rated R-18. The step protects creators and fans, takes very little time, and your data is handled under our privacy policy.

Discreetly. Every transaction carries a generic descriptor on your bank or card statement, with no platform name and no hint of what you bought.

Yes, derivative works follow the Japanese dōjinshi tradition. At upload you state whether a work is original or derivative, and it’s on you to respect the conditions set out in the terms of service. You must rate and tag it properly, and every character has to be an adult who reads as an adult on the page.

Many hentai artists accept custom orders, whether that’s a drawing, a short dōjinshi, an audio track, an animation or a photo shoot. Message the creator to agree what you want, the price and the deadline, and keep the whole arrangement on the platform, where all commissions are handled.

Identity verification under the US 2257 law. Anyone else who appears in your work (cosplay, photography, video) must be verified as well, and without that check R-18 publishing stays switched off.

OtakuOshi exists for people who make things by hand. Passing off generated images as your own is not allowed, and any AI help in your workflow must be declared. Deepfakes and any AI use of another person’s image or identity are banned outright.

Sign up at fans.otakuoshi.com at no cost, turn on creator mode and get your ID verified. After that, price your tiers, post your first works with accurate ratings and tags, and pick which ones are free to view. Our step-by-step guide covers the rest.

Five things will get a post removed: any sexualisation of minors or childlike characters, real people featured without their consent, deepfakes, AI art passed off as handmade and sexual violence missing its warnings. Our ethics policy and publishing principles give the detail.

Spotted banned material, a wrong rating, missing tags, plagiarism or another breach? Use the complaints page. For anything else, get in touch. Under our active response policy, suspected illegal material and safety issues jump to the front of the queue.
