Our otaku content catalogue, mapped out for fans
Welcome to the otaku content catalogue. Independent creators who know anime and Japanese pop culture inside out post everything here, from cosplay sets and manga illustration to doujinshi, animation, ASMR, tutorials and 3D work. Find them by discipline, by the kind of maker they are or by age rating. Then back someone every month, or pay once for a single set or chapter.
Inside the otaku content catalogue
Anyone who has spent a Saturday at MCM Comic Con London or Hyper Japan knows the feeling: costumes round every corner, artist alley tables piled with prints, queues for a favourite voice actor’s signing. OtakuOshi gathers that sort of fandom work in one tidy place, with house rules everyone can read. Open a category and its featured creators are right there, samples and all, ready for you to follow.
Three routes lead through the catalogue, and you can switch between them freely. Go by category when you know the medium you want, be it cosplay, illustration, manga, animation, ASMR, tutorials, 3D or age-rated work. Go by creator type when the maker matters more: cosplay models, photographers, illustrators, mangaka, writers, ecchi artists. And go by rating to set how far things go, from general (SFW) through suggestive (R-15) to adult (R-18).
Ratings carry the same meaning on every page. All creators work within our publishing principles and ethics policy, and listings spell out previews, file specs and licence before checkout, so nothing comes as a surprise.
Nine corners of the catalogue
Each one has its own page of featured creators, with samples to look through before you commit to anybody.
Cosplay
Photo sets nobody else gets, make-up and transformation clips, costume and prop builds, half-finished costumes and posing videos. Casual weekend cosplay sits alongside full replica armour.
Illustration and fan art
Original artwork, fan art, character sheets, concept work and rough sketches. Expect timelapse recordings of drawings, lessons in digital and traditional technique, and subscriber art packs too.
Manga and doujinshi
Self-published manga, doujinshi (doujin for short), webcomics, one-shots and serials, plus storyboards. A few authors take you from script to finished inks and tones, page by page.
Animation and motion
Animated shorts and loops in 2D or 3D, motion graphics, AMVs (fan music videos edited from anime) and rigged characters. Animators also post their workflows and walkthroughs of software from Japan and the West.
ASMR and character voice
In-character ASMR and voice acting, light novels read aloud with feeling, audio dramas, anime and manga podcasts and other immersive listening for subscribers.
Making-of and tutorials
Making-ofs show how a creator gets from idea to finished work. Alongside them sit templates, brushes and working files you can use at once, and lessons on drawing, sewing, shooting, video editing and sound.
3D, avatars and VRoid
Characters and sets modelled in 3D, VRoid and VTuber avatars, Unity and Unreal Engine assets, digital figures, renders and guides to 3D workflow.
R-15 content
Soft gravure, the posed photography familiar from Japanese magazines, plus sensual cosplay, gentle ecchi art, romantic situational voice, photobooks and cheki (instant photos). None of it is explicit. Clear criteria decide the rating, and viewers must confirm they’re over 15.
R-18 content
For adults only, behind a compulsory age check: adult gravure, erotic cosplay, hentai illustration, grown-up manga and doujinshi, adult situational voice and explicit 3D models.
Fans: looking round costs nothing
Window-shopping is free. Explore every category, discover new names and read public profiles without paying anything. Money only changes hands when you want a creator’s exclusive work, by subscribing or by buying one item.
On a profile you’ll see free posts, previews and samples first. Below them come the subscription tiers, each priced and with its perks listed, and then product listings with full technical details. Bookmark the creators you like, compare a few side by side and come back whenever.
A subscription renews monthly until you cancel it in your fan dashboard. Prefer to avoid commitments? Pay-to-unlock means buying single items instead. Our payments page lists the ways to pay, while our how it works guide follows a new fan from sign-up to first purchase.
Otaku creator types
Some fans follow people rather than formats. Every creator type below has a page of featured profiles, and narrower pages exist as well, for cosplay prop makers or hentai artists, say.
Cosplayers and cosplay models
Independent professionals who sweat the production details, in stills and on video. Subscribers get exclusive sets, themed shoots, behind-the-scenes footage and each transformation from bare face to finished character.
Cosplay photographers
The craft behind a strong cosplay image: portfolios, prints, lessons on themed shoots, editing walkthroughs, shoot planning and work made with models and cosplayers.
Fanfiction writers
Stories set in the worlds you already love, released in regular instalments. Look for exclusive chapters, serials, short standalones, light novels and original fiction.
Doujinshi artists
Authors selling straight to readers, getting their feedback and funding the next book with that support. You’ll find independent manga, original and fan doujinshi, webcomics and storyboards, process included.
Fan artists
Characters from anime, manga, games and wider Japanese pop culture, drawn by artists who post their work, open commission slots, sell exclusive packs and grow a loyal audience.
Ecchi artists
Suggestive and erotic illustration, photography and sensual work for a verified adult audience, kept safe by age checks and a clear ethics policy.
Age ratings, explained
Access works on a rating system modelled on the ones used in Japan. Creators tag every post with a level; OtakuOshi then checks the tag holds up.
General content (SFW). Open to everyone and the default view, so no age check is needed. Most of what gets posted lives here: illustration, casual cosplay, SFW manga, tutorials, animation, 3D, process videos and learning material.
R-15 content. Over-15s only, after age verification. Think soft gravure, sensual cosplay, gentle ecchi art and romantic situational voice. Costume, framing, composition and tone do the work; nothing crosses into explicit territory.
R-18 content. Explicit material strictly for over-18s, such as adult gravure, erotic cosplay, hentai art, adult manga, adult situational voice and explicit 3D models. Fans confirm their age. Creators verify their identity under the US law 18 U.S.C. § 2257. Billing uses discreet descriptors.
Getting a rating wrong is a breach of our terms of service, and the post may come down or the account be suspended. Our publishing principles set out each criterion in full.
Before you buy: what a listing tells you
No guesswork needed. Every post sets out the essentials up front.
Previews and samples
Thumbnails cropped to stay safe while still showing the style and quality. Photobooks and manga offer 3 to 5 sample pages; audio tracks get a 15 to 30-second clip. That’s plenty to judge the work by.
Technical specs
File type (JPG, PNG, PDF, WAV, FLAC or MP3), resolution, normally 3000 to 6000 px, plus aspect ratio, sRGB colour profile, how many pages or tracks you get and the overall download size.
Licence and credits
Who did what (photography, editing, styling, illustration, voice), the age rating and the licence: personal use, limited streaming, or an extended licence where one has been agreed.

Catalogue questions, answered
Browsing, subscribing and buying: here’s what fans ask us about most.
Nothing at all. Categories, creator profiles and public posts across the otaku content catalogue are free to explore. You only pay when you want exclusive work from a particular creator, whether by subscription or a single purchase.
On the creator’s profile, choose a tier and pay. Exclusive posts open up at once, and the subscription renews monthly. Our guide to how it works clears up anything about tiers or payment.
Yes, through pay-to-unlock: where a creator offers it, you buy individual posts for a one-off fee, with no monthly charge attached. Handy when a single set or chapter is all you’re after.
Credit and debit cards go through international payment processors. You can also load money into the built-in digital wallet and spend from it anywhere on the platform. Whichever you use, your bank statement shows a discreet descriptor. Full details sit on the payments page.
Only for rated material. R-15 asks you to confirm you’re over 15; R-18 asks you to confirm you’re 18 or older. SFW posts need no check. OtakuOshi also complies with the US law 18 U.S.C. § 2257.
No. Cancel in your fan dashboard whenever you want. Access carries on until the paid month runs out, and no further payment is taken. The fan-creator agreement holds the precise terms.
Create a free account at fans.otakuoshi.com, turn on creator mode, add your tiers and post. There’s no waiting for approval. Planning R-18 work? Finish identity verification before your first upload. How it works has the full walkthrough.
Anything sexualising minors is off limits, as is coercion, violence, material posted without consent and whatever breaks the law. A deliberately wrong rating is treated as a breach too. Read the ethics policy, publishing principles and terms of service for the complete rules.
Use the complaints page for anything from a mislabelled post to plagiarism or inappropriate material. Reports of illegal content or safety risks jump the queue, as our active response policy sets out. Everyday questions can go through the contact page.
