How to use the OtakuOshi Help Center
Questions are grouped into three blocks: general info (for everyone), for creators (posting, selling and getting paid) and for fans (subscriptions, payments, interacting with creators and fixing problems). Each block is split into topics with expandable questions.
If you’d like a quick picture of what OtakuOshi is first, start with our guide to how it works or browse the content catalog to see which creators and works are on the platform. For quick questions about the platform in general, there’s also the FAQ.
Help topics
Pick the block you need. Every section has questions with detailed answers, plus links to the platform policies that apply in each case.
General info and security
Who can use OtakuOshi, whether there’s an app and where to send your question. Under sign-in and security: password recovery, two-factor authentication and keeping your account safe.
For creators
Creator account, posting content, pricing, tips, livestreams, DRM protection, complaints, referrals and getting paid.
For fans
Fan account, subscriptions, interacting with creators, payment methods, wallet, tips, complaints and refund requests.
General info
The basics about OtakuOshi, who can use it and which channel to contact for each type of question.
For now, OtakuOshi is a web platform you use in your browser, whether on a computer, phone or tablet. The layout adapts to any screen, small ones included. If we ever launch a native app, we’ll announce it on our social media and on the platform itself.
For any question about your account, your content, payments or how the platform works, reach out through the contact page. Maximum response times are set out in our Active Response Policy.
Journalists, media outlets and news content creators can find up-to-date information, media assets and contact details for our communications team in the press section.
Authorities, law enforcement agencies and regulators who need information about the platform or a specific user as part of an official investigation can reach our legal team through the contact page by choosing the matching option. Every request must include the relevant official documentation.
Brands, companies and organizations interested in working with OtakuOshi will find every option on our partnerships page, where they can get in touch with the business development team. If you write about otaku culture, that page also explains the paid article program.
Use the form on the contact page and choose the option closest to your situation. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Account access and security
Get back into your account, turn on two-factor authentication and protect your profile from unauthorized access.
On the sign-in screen, tap “Forgot your password?” and enter the email you signed up with. You’ll get a link to create a new password, which only works for a limited time for security reasons. If you don’t see the email, check your spam or junk folder. If it still hasn’t arrived, reach out through the contact page.
Go to your account’s security settings and turn on two-factor authentication (2FA). The platform walks you through linking an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Authy, which generates a temporary code every time you sign in. Keep your backup codes somewhere safe in case you lose access to your device. You’ll find more protection measures on our security page.
It almost always comes down to one of three things: your device’s clock is out of sync (2FA codes depend on the exact time), you’re using the code for a different account in your authenticator app, or that backup code has already been used. Set your phone’s time to automatic and try again. If the problem continues, let us know through the contact page and we’ll help you regain access.
Change your password right away and turn on two-factor authentication if you haven’t already. Then contact support through the contact page so we can review your account’s recent activity and take whatever action is needed.
For creators
If you post on OtakuOshi, whether that’s cosplay, illustration, manga, animation, ASMR, tutorials, 3D modeling or any other otaku craft, this block answers your questions about your account, posting rules, platform tools, complaints and referrals, and getting paid.
If you’re new here, start with creator account to understand sign-up and verification, and read sharing content before your first post so you know the rules. If you’re still deciding whether to open a profile, our page for creators explains how to monetize your content on OtakuOshi.

Creator account
Opening, managing and closing your OtakuOshi creator account, from sign-up to deletion.
Sign up at fans.otakuoshi.com, confirm your email and start the creator sign-up from your profile. Then customize your page, set up your subscription tiers and upload your first content. Sign-up is instant and free. The full process is laid out in how it works.
One verified creator account per person. That’s how we make sure profiles are authentic and every identity check can be traced. If you work on very different themes, organize them within the same account using separate subscription tiers or collections.
Yes. OtakuOshi welcomes creators from all over the world and sends payouts to your account wherever you are.
An application can be rejected if your ID documents are incomplete, hard to read or don’t match the details you provided, if a creator account already exists under the same identity, or if the content you plan to post doesn’t fit the platform’s categories. The rejection email gives the specific reason, and in most cases you can resubmit once you’ve fixed what it points out.
The most common reasons are not meeting the minimum age (18), having a previous account suspended or deleted for breaking the Terms of Service, or running into a technical error during sign-up. If you think it’s a mistake, reach out through the contact page.
Yes. In your creator account settings you can turn on hidden mode so your profile doesn’t show up in search or on category pages. Fans who already have your URL can still visit through the direct link. It’s handy if you want to lower your visibility for a while or keep your audience more private.
You can request deletion from your profile settings or through the contact page. Before the account is deleted, your pending earnings are paid out and your fans’ active subscriptions are canceled. Deletion is permanent. Your content, message history and associated data are erased and can’t be recovered, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Sharing content
Posting rules, allowed content, use of artificial intelligence, content featuring other people and moderation on OtakuOshi.
OtakuOshi is built for otaku and Japanese pop culture content in all its forms, from cosplay, manga art and doujin and manga to anime-style animation, ASMR and voice, tutorials and making-of content or 3D modeling and VRoid avatars. Everything you post has to follow the platform’s Publishing Principles and Ethics Policy.
Content is taken down when it breaks the Publishing Principles, the Ethics Policy or the Terms of Service. The most common causes are the wrong rating (R-15/R-18), prohibited content, a copyright violation or material that doesn’t fit the platform’s categories. If you think it’s a mistake, you can appeal through the contact page.
Yes, within the R-15 and R-18 categories. For R-18 content, the creator has to verify their identity and viewers have to verify their age. All explicit content must be rated and tagged correctly. Sexualizing minors or childlike characters is strictly prohibited, as is any depiction of sexual violence or coercion. The full rules are in our Ethics Policy.
Yes, as long as it follows the Publishing Principles and the Ethics Policy. Roleplay with explicit themes must be rated R-15 or R-18, and everyone taking part has to be a verified adult. Roleplay that simulates situations involving minors, promotes real-world violence or involves coercion or lack of consent is prohibited.
Yes, but you need explicit, documented consent from everyone who can be recognized in it. This applies especially to group cosplay shoots, photo collabs and content with models. If the content is R-15 or R-18, every one of them must have completed identity and age verification on the platform.
OtakuOshi is a platform for human creators, so content generated entirely by artificial intelligence isn’t accepted as main subscription content. You can use AI tools to support your process (color correction, upscaling or background fill) as long as the core creative work is yours and you disclose the AI use in the content description.
No. Deepfakes, AI face swaps and any AI-generated content that uses another person’s image, voice or identity without their explicit consent are prohibited, whether that’s a real person or another creator on the platform. Breaking this rule can lead to immediate account suspension.
No. Chatbots, AI-generated auto-replies and any system that imitates a human conversation aren’t allowed in direct messages with fans. Your fans pay for a direct connection with you, and automating private communication is considered a deceptive practice.
You can add links to your social media and your profiles on other platforms in your creator bio. What’s not allowed is using DMs, posts or chats to steer fans to outside platforms and get around OtakuOshi’s payment system. Doing so violates the Terms of Service.
We strongly recommend not sharing details like your address, phone number, bank information or ID documents with fans, on or off the platform. OtakuOshi handles all payments securely, so there’s no need to swap sensitive information. Your privacy is protected by our Privacy Policy.
OtakuOshi discourages in-person meetups arranged through the platform. Your relationship with fans here is digital, and the platform isn’t responsible for anything that happens outside it.
Using OtakuOshi as a creator
Pricing, subscriptions, paid messages, tips, livestreams, content protection and promotion tools.
You set your prices. You can create several subscription tiers, each with its own perks, and change the amounts whenever you like. Financial terms and the platform fee are on the payouts and funding page.
In the messages section of your creator dashboard, choose to create a pay-to-unlock message. Attach the exclusive content (image, video, audio or document), set a price and send it to one fan or a group of fans. The content stays locked until the fan pays for it.
That’s up to you, within a minimum and maximum range the platform sets to protect both creators and fans. The exact amounts and terms are on the payouts and funding page.
You set that too. The post shows up in your feed with a partial preview, and the fan pays the listed price to see the full content. Price ranges are on the payouts and funding page.
Fans can send you optional tips to support you, on a specific post, during a livestream or from your profile. Tips are added to your monthly earnings and processed along with the rest of your income. The platform fee on tips is the same as on subscriptions.
The platform sets a minimum amount per tip and a daily limit per fan to protect against fraud and compulsive spending. The exact amounts are on the payouts and funding page.
In your creator profile settings you can set up a free trial with a set length. During that period fans subscribe at no cost, and when it ends, the subscription automatically switches to paid at the tier you chose. It’s a great way to win new subscribers.
From your creator dashboard you can launch limited-time discounts on your subscriptions. You choose the percentage, the length and who the promotion targets (new subscribers, existing ones or everyone), and the offer is featured on your profile for as long as you set.
Share the direct link to your profile on your social media, in your bios and in your video descriptions. You can create a custom link that’s easy to remember. Many creators post previews or teasers on their socials with a link to their profile to bring in new subscribers.
OtakuOshi regularly features creator profiles on category pages, on the homepage and on its official social media. Selection takes into account content quality, your activity, audience growth and rule compliance. To be picked, content has to be SFW (safe for work) and meet the established quality and format requirements, so posting consistently and well boosts your chances. You can’t pay for preferred visibility.
In your creator dashboard, go to the livestreams section. Set the title and description, choose whether the stream is free or subscribers-only, and decide whether you’ll accept tips during the broadcast. The platform gives you a stream key and a URL to use with broadcasting software like OBS. If your device supports it, you can also stream straight from your browser.
You’ll need to coordinate with the other creator and set up the stream so both profiles are linked to it. Use the platform’s messaging to agree on the technical details and how you’ll split the income the stream brings in.
If the recipient has already read it, it can’t be taken back. If they haven’t opened it yet, you can delete it from your conversation history. Pay-to-unlock messages that have already been paid for can’t be unsent, and the charge can’t be reversed.
Each post can include images, videos, audio, documents, polls and text. Content has to relate to the platform’s categories and follow the Publishing Principles. There’s no limit on files per post, though each file has a maximum size set by the platform.
In your creator feed, pick the post and tap edit or delete. You can change the text, add or remove files and adjust visibility. If it was a pay-to-unlock post that a fan already bought, that fan keeps access to the original content even if you edit it.
OtakuOshi has an automatic watermark feature you can turn on in your profile settings. It’s applied to the images and videos you post and helps protect your content from unauthorized redistribution. You can adjust its position and opacity.
In your creator profile’s security settings you can turn on DRM protection, which gets in the way of screenshots, direct downloads and screen recording. No DRM is foolproof, but it makes copying your content much harder. It’s enabled for your whole account and applies to everything you post from then on.
Complaints and reports for creators
How to report leaked or stolen content, appeal moderation decisions, restrict or block fans and report violations.
If you find your content shared without permission outside the platform, let us know through the complaints and reports page or the contact page with the details of the case: the URL where it appears, the original posting date and any evidence that helps speed things up. OtakuOshi can file takedown requests (DMCA takedowns) on your behalf.
Submit your appeal through the contact page and explain your case in detail. We’ll review it within the time frames in our Active Response Policy, and it will be handled by a different team member from the one who made the original decision.
From a fan’s profile or your subscriber list, you can restrict or block any user. Restricting limits their interaction (they can’t message you or comment on your posts) but keeps their subscription active. Blocking removes their access to your profile completely and cancels their subscription, and they won’t be able to subscribe again.
Report them through the complaints page or the contact page. Attach everything you have, such as screenshots, links to the content, dates and a description of the problem, so the team can investigate and act quickly.
Creator referral program
How creator referrals work, how to generate your personal link and the terms of the commission.
The referral program lets you earn a commission on the income of other creators who sign up with your personal link, for a set period after they join. Percentages, duration, terms and exclusions are on the affiliate program page.
Generate your personal referral link from your creator dashboard and share it with other creators who might be interested in the platform. When someone signs up with your link and starts earning, you automatically receive a commission under the terms of the affiliate program. That commission is added to your monthly earnings and paid out with the rest of your income.
Creator payouts
How you receive your earnings, how long payouts take, why they might be delayed and what happens with chargebacks and bank fees.
OtakuOshi processes payouts automatically and sends the funds to the account or payout method set up in your creator profile. Payouts go out once a month. The full financial terms are on the payouts and funding page.
Payouts are processed in the first few days of the month after the billing period. From there, timing depends on your payout method. Bank transfers usually take 3 to 7 business days, and other electronic payment methods can be faster. Your country and your bank also play a part.
The most common reasons are incorrect or incomplete bank details in your profile, a pending identity verification, a high number of chargebacks on your account, an ongoing security review or bank holidays in your country. Check that your payout details are up to date. If the delay continues, reach out through the contact page.
Payouts can be suspended if irregularities are detected on the account (fraudulent activity, repeated chargebacks or breaches of the Terms of Service), if your identity verification has expired or if your payout details aren’t valid. You’ll get an email with the specific reason and the steps to fix it. If you think it’s a mistake, contact support.
A chargeback happens when a fan asks their bank to reverse a payment made on the platform. OtakuOshi handles the dispute by giving the payment processor evidence that the transaction was legitimate. If it’s resolved in the fan’s favor, the amount is deducted from your earnings. Racking up a lot of chargebacks can affect your account.
That fee comes from your bank, not OtakuOshi. Some banks charge for receiving international transfers or for currency conversion. Ask your bank how it handles international deposits, or consider a different payout method with lower fees.
No. Every payment for content posted on OtakuOshi has to happen on the platform. Asking for payment outside it, whether by bank transfer, PayPal, crypto or any other method, violates the Terms of Service and can result in immediate account suspension.

Becoming a fan
How to create your OtakuOshi fan account, why we ask you to verify your age and how to delete your account if you need to.
Sign up at fans.otakuoshi.com with your email. Creating an account is free and instant. After that, you can browse the content catalog, follow the creators you like and subscribe to their profiles to see their exclusive content.
Age verification is required to view content rated R-15 or R-18. It’s a legal requirement and a safeguard so that only verified adults can access explicit content. General content on the platform doesn’t require it. You’ll find the details in our 18 U.S.C. 2257 compliance documentation.
You can request deletion from your profile settings. Before the account is deleted, all your active subscriptions are canceled, with no refund for periods already paid. Deletion is permanent. Your message history, your library of purchased content and all data tied to your account are erased, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
Interacting with creators
How to find creators, subscribe to their profiles, manage your subscriptions and interact with them safely.
Browse the content catalog, explore the categories (cosplay, illustration, manga, animation, ASMR and more) or look up a creator by name in the search bar.
Go to the creator’s profile, choose the subscription tier you want and complete the payment. Your subscription starts right away and gives you access to all the exclusive content in that tier. The terms of the fan-creator relationship are in the Fan-Creator Agreement.
Subscriptions on OtakuOshi renew every month on their own so you don’t lose access to the creator’s content. You can turn off auto-renewal anytime from your fan dashboard, and you’ll keep access until the period you’ve already paid for ends.
In your fan dashboard, go to active subscriptions, pick the one you want to cancel and confirm. You’ll still be able to see the creator’s content until the renewal date. On that day the subscription ends for good, with no extra charge.
Some creators offer free trials or discounts for new subscribers. When they do, these show up on their profile next to the subscription tiers. To start a free trial you’ll be asked for a payment method, which will be charged for the subscription automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
Don’t share personal details like your address, phone number, bank information or ID documents with any creator. Payments and messages already go through the platform securely. If a creator asks you for personal information outside OtakuOshi, report it through the complaints page.
We don’t recommend it. OtakuOshi discourages in-person meetups arranged through the platform, because your relationship with creators here is digital. The platform isn’t responsible for anything that happens outside it.
Content posted on OtakuOshi belongs to its creators, and download options depend on each creator and the type of content. Redistributing, copying or posting it outside the platform without their permission is strictly prohibited and violates the Terms of Service.
Payments for fans
Tips, accepted payment methods, wallet, daily limits, how charges appear on your statement and bank fees.
You can send a tip from the creator’s profile, from a post or during a livestream. Choose the tip option, enter the amount and confirm the payment. It’s processed instantly and the creator gets a notification.
The platform sets a minimum amount per tip and a cumulative daily limit. These limits prevent fraudulent transactions and protect you from impulse spending. The exact amounts are on the payouts and funding page.
OtakuOshi accepts several payment methods, with end-to-end encryption. The available options and protection measures are on our security page. Every transaction is protected, and your financial information is never shared with creators.
Charges appear on your statement under a generic descriptor that doesn’t reveal the platform’s name or the type of content you bought. We use discreet descriptors to protect your privacy on your bank and credit card statements.
The OtakuOshi wallet is an in-platform balance you top up with any of the accepted payment methods. You can use that balance to pay for subscriptions, pay-to-unlock content and tips without making a separate external payment each time. Your balance doesn’t expire and top-ups have no fees.
Daily limits are set by default as a safety measure. If you want to raise or lower them, do it from the security settings of your fan account. Some changes may require extra verification for security reasons.
That fee is applied by your bank, not OtakuOshi. Some banks add a charge for international purchases or currency conversion. Check with your bank about the terms for your international payments, or try a different payment method with lower fees.
Complaints and reports for fans
How to file a complaint about content that didn’t meet your expectations, report a creator’s violations and request a refund.
File it through the complaints page or reach out through the contact page. Describe the problem in as much detail as you can, including the creator, the post and the reason, so we can help you properly.
Use the complaints page or the contact page. Include all the information you have, such as screenshots, links to the content, dates and a description of the problem. The team will investigate and act according to the procedures in our Active Response Policy.
Refunds are requested through the contact page. Include the payment details (date, amount and creator), the reason and any information that supports your request. The team will review it under the terms of the Fan-Creator Agreement. Refunds aren’t guaranteed, because every case is reviewed individually.
